4 Years at Amazon 🎉

Today marks my 4-year anniversary (or, as we say, my 1461st Day 1) at Amazon Web Services (AWS). Reflecting on this incredible journey, I am filled with gratitude and a sense of accomplishment. Here, I share a snapshot from my 1461st Day 1 celebration at work—a journey packed with countless memories, difficulties, and joyous occasions.

The Journey

Hard Work and Promotions

My journey at AWS has been a blend of hard work and excitement. After two years of relentless dedication, I was promoted to L6. This milestone was a testament to my perseverance and the support of my team. Each challenge faced was an opportunity for growth, and every success was a step forward in my career.

Awards and Certifications

In these four years, I have been honored with five awards and earned 19 certificates. Winning the first place in a Software Hackathon was a highlight, showcasing the innovative spirit and technical prowess that AWS nurtures. These recognitions have not only been personal achievements but also affirmations of the collaborative and supportive environment at Amazon.

Changing Managers and Adaptability

Change has been a constant companion. I have had the privilege of working under five different managers, each bringing unique perspectives and leadership styles. These transitions have taught me adaptability and the importance of continuous learning. Surviving the global COVID-19 pandemic was a significant challenge, but it reinforced the resilience and unity within the AWS community.

Global Experiences and Learning

Travel has been an integral part of my journey. I have had the opportunity to visit 37 countries, each trip enriching my understanding of diverse cultures and global business practices. Attending the Davos Conference in China and being chosen for the International Leadership Program (IVLP) in the USA were particularly enlightening experiences that broadened my horizons.

Public Speaking and Workshops

Delivering speeches and conducting workshops in more than 15 countries has been a fulfilling aspect of my role. Sharing knowledge and inspiring others has always been a passion. Helping over 100 people find their career paths has been one of the most rewarding experiences. The ability to impact lives positively is a privilege I cherish.

Non-Profit Initiatives and Projects

Starting two non-profit organizations and launching both local and international projects have been significant achievements. These initiatives have allowed me to give back to the community and contribute to causes close to my heart. The support from AWS has been instrumental in realizing these dreams.

Personal Milestones

On a personal note, the past four years have been equally momentous. I found my soulmate, a journey of love and companionship that has enriched my life. Becoming an uncle has added a new dimension of joy and responsibility. These personal milestones are a reminder of the balance between professional success and personal happiness.

Living the Dream

Today, I am living my 1461st day in what was once just a dream. For everyone in my network, I encourage you to pursue your dreams relentlessly. Don’t let anyone tell you your dreams are too big. Do what’s right for you and keep pushing forward.

Gratitude

To my coworkers, thank you for the camaraderie and support. To my team, thank you for the collaboration and hard work. To Amazon, thank you for providing a platform to grow and succeed. And to everyone who has been a part of this journey, thank you. Your support has been invaluable.
